Large files and settings

Cloud workspaces can now move files too big to open, and settings gets a home you can reach from anywhere.

• Large file transfers — upload and download cloud workspace files up to 30 GB, and download folders up to 8 GB, far past what the editor can open
• Settings is now a searchable modal, opened from anywhere with Cmd/Ctrl+comma
• Drag a region out of a plot or image to attach just that part to a chat
• Approve, deny, or reply to command requests right from the message box
• Plus dragging agents into tabs and splits, deleting several agents at once, writeup citations that open their source, workspace storage usage, and other quality-of-life work

Databricks and multiple workspaces

Qualia connects to your Databricks workspace, and cloud accounts can now keep separate workspaces.

• Databricks — connect your workspace, browse Unity Catalog, query it from your notebooks, and ask Genie questions in plain English
• Multiple cloud workspaces, each with its own files, projects, agents, and compute
• Writeups can now be dashboards or presentations, lay content out in side-by-side columns, and export to Word
• Plus capturing evidence by selecting text in any file, uploading folders straight into a cloud workspace, a getting-started walkthrough, and other quality-of-life work

Script mode

Agents can now work in plain scripts as well as notebooks, with new models and new kinds of figures to work with.

• Script mode — a setting that has agents write and run scripts instead of notebooks, and cite evidence straight out of the files they produce
• New models to choose from, including Opus 5, Sonnet 5, and two new Gemini models — and turning thinking off now takes effect
• Plotly and other interactive charts render properly in notebooks and write-ups, and agents can capture them as knowledge

Qualia in the browser

You can now run Qualia in the browser, and the desktop layout has been reworked to give you more room.

CSV editor and settings redesign

A dedicated CSV editor lands, and settings get rebuilt from scratch.

• CSV editor — open and edit CSVs and TSVs that run to gigabytes, with find and replace, row and column editing, undo, and per-column stats
• Settings redesigned into grouped sections that are easier to search and navigate
• Switching between projects is much faster in workspaces with lots of projects and chats
• Export any chat as a Markdown transcript, and exported writeups now use the document's real title
• Plus much faster PDF exports, previews on collapsed notebook cells, dragging multiple files at once in the explorer, a menu bar in the browser and on Windows, and other quality-of-life work

Plot zoom and smarter search

This release is about moving around your own work faster — inspecting figures and trusting search.

• Click any plot or image in a notebook to open it full size, with zoom and pan, and tall figures now render readably instead of shrinking
• Search now covers unsaved notebook edits, skips generated folders, and jumps to the exact cell you clicked
• Tell an agent a preference and it can save it as a rule for you, or import an existing instructions file as one
• Plus Claude Sonnet 5, accepting and rejecting findings straight from the knowledge map, a way out of stuck notebook save conflicts, and other quality-of-life work

Chat search and custom themes

Your whole chat history becomes searchable, and you can theme the app your way.

• Search previous chats — find any message across every conversation from the Search sidebar and jump straight to it
• Custom themes — set your own colours for the whole app
• Agents can see which files and notebooks you have open, so you can just say "explain this plot"
• Agents check in more often during long runs instead of going quiet

Inline cell edits

You can now point the agent at one specific thing — a single cell, a single finding — instead of taking everything through the main chat.

• Inline cell edits — click the chat icon on a code cell, say what you want changed, and the agent rewrites and reruns just that cell in place
• Reply to a proposed finding instead of only accepting or rejecting it, so you can ask what it means or push back and still decide later
